About Me

Dena Beach is a physical therapist and Stott Pilates Rehab Certified Instructor.  She is the only Rehab Certified Instructor in the entire Hawaiian Islands.   Dena has been a physical therapist for 21years, graduating from Texas Tech University in 1991.  She practiced in Utah and Hawaii in settings from inpatient rehabilitation, transitional care centers, hospitals, home health, nursing homes and has been in outpatient physical therapy for the last 12 years.  She began her Pilates training in 2003 when a second back injury would not fully heal with traditional physical therapy.  Beginning her training with An Intro to Rehabilitation Based Pilates and Yoga, she delved into the science behind why these disciplines could be the missing piece of knowledge for health and wellness.  The STOTT Pilates Rehabilitation Program brought intense in-depth knowledge of the application of the Pilates exercises to specific dysfunction.  She was also certified in PiYo in 2007.

The specific focus of this specialized training is critical in keeping those with a history of injuries or managing various medical diagnoses safe during progressive levels of exercise.  Whether you have musculoskeletal, neurological or developmental disorders, pilates has had proven to improve your level of function.

Pilates Rehab Kona is a private pilates studio designed to assess and treat your individual physical needs for health and performance.
